spence -> Looking for Japanese Player for Big B Mod (3/11/2020 6:44:20 PM)

The Big B Mod's principle premise is that Japan had a real stalemate going in China when it attacked the US and UK in 1941. As a result the Japanese Player will have to seek victory fighting mostly against the US and UK (and Dutch) rather seeking to overrun China. The Chinese OOB has been revised significantly but the Chinese find they are much more able to defend rather than attack. The Mod has recently been changed to include stacking limits which makes cities better defensive terrain.

Will discuss House Rules but I am inclined to have as few as possible unless they expire/become irrelevant fairly quickly.

Big B -> RE: Looking for Japanese Player for Big B Mod (3/13/2020 2:30:14 AM)

Just wanted to say, I saw 43 looks at this request and no takers for Spence.
Spence is a good historical minded player who would like a realistic game.

This mod/scenario is Not at all impossible for a Japanese player - but I would say it IS for an Experienced Japanese player...only because (like RHS) China is not a pushover, and the Allies aren't exactly "the Gang who couldn't Shoot Strait".

I am on my third PBEM of this game, and my Japanese opponents have been good, and fearless. China has been absolutely conquered in past games - so - China is not Impossible, but to be fair, this mod/scenario is Very Historical in game play (I have had forum members tell me it's the most realistic scenario they have ever seen, and probably most JFBs would never try it), but I think any Japanese player worth his salt shouldn't be afraid of it - it's NOT at all an AFB mod.

I just hope someone out there will give Spence a try.

Thanks for the compliments Brian. This Thread is however CLOSED. (I've got my game).
