DConn -> I must be missing something obvious . . . (3/26/2020 9:47:01 PM)

I am just getting into this beast, working my way through the tutorial scenarios. Something I have tried to find the answer to, but so far, no joy: when I launch a mission with one a/c, I get an icon on the map with one aircraft. When I launch a mission with two aircraft, I get two icons. One has one a/c (looks like the single-a/c mission icon); the other icon for the mission has two smaller aircraft icons. The two icons (one single/one double) for the two-a/c mission track in the same general direction, but are not in exactly the same map position. Can someone explain what is going on? I swear, I HAVE looked in the manual!

Thanks for any help!

I think you're seeing the fact that it's not just a group of two aircraft but two unique aircraft who are in a group.

If you have a single aircraft you see this.

But with two aircraft they will likely have two slightly different paths, especially if terrain is in the way. If you press V you will go into UNIT VIEW and can watch how each individual aircraft. Pressing V again puts you back in GROUP MODE. I'd check that first.

This is group mode.

And this is unit mode, you can see they are on a slightly different track.

Thanks, TT, it was indeed a unit vs. group view thing. Things look as you show in unit view. But in group view, my screen shows this for the two-plane group, where there is a single-plane icon connected to the two-plane icon. Not sure why

The line connects the leader to the other unit(s) in that group. If you had 3 planes in the group, there would be lines connecting the leader to the other 2 planes.

And in reverse, if no other planes in a group, then this no connections from leader to others.[:D]

Makes sense. Thank you, Michael!
