How do you attack across the Strait of Messina? I can't move any units into the strait.

you need to get a TF onto one of the ferry hexes, do this by leaving it adjacent one turn and then you can move that one (or another) into the hex the next turn. Put 2 divisions on it, they might have to wait a turn before attacking (it costs as if it was a major river).

better to go around it, a landing on the Italian mainland will shift the axis forces away and back up north

Thanks for the info.

Also with the TF do they need to be moved to England for the Normandy invasion or do new TF appear around the time they are needed?

Both. [;)]

you'll need at least 2 of the Med TFs back in the UK for France.

basically you want a 4 hex wide landing zone and the extra TFs will be invaluable for things like shore support and taking out any fortified forts. 2 in the Med should be enough for the S France landings.

Thanks for the information
