Parel803 -> [Answered] Postion off in the Stait of Hormuz (4/1/2020 8:34:32 AM)

Good morning,
[image][/image]
As a newby I might do an operator error but if I add an unit via lua in the "Strait of Hormuz" area is initiates 10 nm off position in the map. The GetUnit info has the same position as inserted by the Lua.
But checking it is south of that also stated in the bottom screen position remarks.
It works fine in other area's like the Golf of Oman.
If it isn't a operator error and I have to do more, please let me know.

with regards
ps I'm not sure the image is embedded?

To add; I had it working correct on the Island of Larak. Tried for the ABSL with the same zoom as Larak but it still put it off position on my side.
regards

The location is correct.
Don't forget that you entered the location in as decimal degrees, not degree/minute/second as shown in the location box on bottom of screen.
.35 - > 60 x .35 = 21
.3 -> 60 x .3 = 18

Parel803 -> RE: Postion off in the Stait of Hormuz (4/1/2020 9:33:40 AM)

Got it:
this would be inn degrees
latitude='N26.35.00', longitude='E56.30.00',

this in decimal
latitude='N26.35', longitude='E56.30',

thanks again the report could be deleted, I guess

Hey Parel803,

The degrees/minutes/seconds (DMS) to decimal degrees conversion is a pain to do manually. When I need to do a conversion I use this website:

https://www.latlong.net/degrees-minutes-seconds-to-decimal-degrees
https://www.latlong.net/lat-long-dms.html

Using the first link your co-ordinates of N25 35' 00", E56 30' 00" comes out to N25.58333333 E56.50000000
