Gunnerchimp -> Game Speed V1.05 (4/2/2020 7:38:26 PM)

Hi

I've recently downloaded V1.05 and was looking forward to playing the revised version. However, I've been surprised by the very low game speeds despite running it on the most powerful PC I've ever owned. Compared to the old version, it takes an age to do anything. Is this a general issue and is there anything I can do to speed the game up? I've already switched off clouds etc.

I'm running a Dell Inspiron 7577 with i7-7700 2.8 processor, 16GB RAM and a GTX1060 GC.

Thanks

Gunnerchimp

Have you tried dxwnd or running in widowed mode?

Hi Simovitch

To be fair I haven't, will give it a try!

Thanks

Let me know how it goes.

The performance issues have to do with changes in Windows operating systems and little if anything to do the speed of your CPU or RAM. The game speed screams on my clunky old Windows 7 laptop, but is almost unbearably slow on my newer W10 desktop without starting it through DXWnd or in windowed mode.

Wow, what a difference, the game has gone from being unplayable to how it should be. Thank you for the tip, I later spotted the thread lower down in the list so apologies for repeating [:D].

Hi.I have the same problem..Game running slow, especially with cloud cover or radar ranges activated. How do I fix this? How do I change the windowed mode as mentioned above. Thanks

when you start the game, go to options. make sure the windowed mode button is highlighted. Exit the game and restart.

If you would rather play full screen, the read-me/whats new included with 1.05 explains the rest.
