CBauerJr14 -> Combat Target Questions (4/5/2020 1:06:58 AM)

Great game now like everyone else have time to dabble and wondered while working on my own scenario.
1. Can I change a target type of a unit slot? example: from Soft to Hard and so on.
2. Are the ability to have Attack Values and Defense Values hard written to the unit slot? example: HQ Unit has no attack values is there a way to add some.
3. Similar to Question 2 are the certain General values also hard written to the unit slot?

Just trying to figure how much flexibility I have with the unit slots before I finishing drawing out my concepts.

Thanks

1. Not that I am aware of and it was one of the problems I had with my fantasy campaign - I changed the names of the target types in the localization.txt file (Hard = Heavy Armor; Tank = Plate Armor etc.) but then I had to use the unit slots that had the target type and rename them (Tank became Knight and Heavy Tank became I can't remember right now). It took a lot of mucking around with that file.
2. No, but there is a Brigade unit type that isn't used (AFAIK), so you might be able to muck around with that HOWEVER I am pretty sure the supply function of the HQ will not work. Devs will have more on this question.
3. Many are certainly hard coded: they are grayed out when you look at their stats in the editor, such as Tank not being able to do damage to resources. That's why you might need to do some close research on each target type and what they can and can't do before making any changes. And test a lot!

Good luck.

1. Good question, from what I understood until now, it seems not.

Hmm… can someone confirm this? The Brigades don’t work with the HQ?
