John Umber -> Empires in Harm (7/22/2003 2:45:25 PM)

Would it be possible to use these rules/units/corps/leaders as an option?

More information:

Just curious...

Le Tondu -> One has to wonder. (7/22/2003 8:35:10 PM)

John Umber,
A while back, it was mentioned by Matrix Games that two versions of this game will be made AND released at the same time. The "Harvey milk-toast" EiA AND an enhanced version done by the wonderful creator of EiH. It was said that he was actually enlisted for this work.

One can only wonder how things are now.

John Umber -> (7/22/2003 8:44:39 PM)

Two verions of the game...

That would be in the same game box? It is a little expensive to purchase two versions of the same game... EiH is not that different.

The "author" of EiH is listed among the creditors of MatrixGames...
I don't know if he is the author or just someone posting the EiH rules. It is a lot of work done on EiH and honor to the author.

It would be nice with some new information from Matrix again. The screenshots are old, etc etc...

I guess the ones that wait for something good can never wait too long.

Hi John,
I can confirm that I'm involved in this project and that various aspects of EiH are working themselves into the game. It's probably a bit early to get into too many specifics, but the diplomacy on minors system from EiH is just of one area has been already been integrated.

Is the EiH stuff going to be an option or just simply integrated into the EiA games. I hope it is an option, cuz not everyone is into the EiH stuff.

Hello Treasure!

My expectations for this game just went "x3".

Keep up the good work and this will be a very good game indeed!

:)

Hi,
I strongly suspect that some aspects of EiH will be part of the game, while others will be optional of some form. Right now it is a bit early to say exactly the "what" and "how" for sure though.

John Umber -> (7/24/2003 1:34:56 PM)

That is good enough for me...
:)

Le Tondu -> EiH anyone? (7/24/2003 8:23:46 PM)

Wow, I wonder if Matrix has any plans to releas EiH as a seperate product?

Treasure -> (7/24/2003 9:10:07 PM)

Hi all,
I don't think so as there hasn't been any discussions about that. (I'm assuming that there would be if this was their intent.)

Good, I just don't like this rush for I, II and III.

If you make a game it is A game. Patches and add-ons are all very nice, but a new game is a new game.
I am a customer and I wish to be a happy customer (buys more things then)...

A question for Treasure, the flags used in EiH, are they correct?
I am a little bewildered by the Swedish flag, the three crowns are the "royal flag", not the national flag. Also the danish is a bit strange. I can understand using these flags for corp counters, but national symbol? Just simply curious. They are very nice though!

Treasure -> (7/25/2003 9:51:49 PM)

Hi John,
The whole question of which flag to use in the period is a rather difficult one to answer. National flags typically developed after, or at the end of the period. Most flags were more "local" than the territory they cover suggest, or as you suggest a royal flag of some type. I'm pretty certain that with some digging you could find several flags for any particular "nation" at the time, all of which would have some justification for being used.

Le Tondu -> (7/26/2003 7:21:46 AM)

treasure,
You are absolutely right, but shouldn't the flag that is used be at the very least correct for that nation -whatever the year?

The most recent screenshots show round tokens with the different flags being used. All look fairly good with the exception of France. I'm sorry but that wasn't their flag -ever. The reason is because its not completed. For that flag, I cannot help but notice the lack of the words "VALEUR ET DISCIPLINE" in the center as it was on all French flags of that pattern.
