William the Silent -> HQ units (4/9/2020 6:03:05 PM)

When I built an OOB with let's say an Army with 2 Corps. Every corps has division.
So I start of with a Army HQ-unit; then a 1st Corps HQ-unit; then the 1st Corps divisions; then the 2nd Corps HQ, etc

How do the HQ-units influence the units under their command? What units are under their influence? Has it to do with the level of the HQ-Unit. How does it work and what are the effects exactly. Also with supply and leaders in/under HQ-units.

If a leader in your HQ dies the unit goes in reorganizing. All the sub-units too?

If a formation has a HQ in it, if that HQ is destroyed or all the command squads in it are destroyed, the chance of combat reorganization is doubled for that formation.

If there are multiple HQs in the formation ON THE MAP at the same time, I believe the top HQ in the formation is the one that counts for the above purposes.

See 9.1.10.

Note the HQ unit affects only the units in its formation.

So, if you set up an Army HQ, it will affect only units in its immediate formation. Another formation, a corps, with a HQ unit is not affiliated with the Army HQ other than they are part of the same force. If something bad happens to the Army HQ, it will have no effect on corps HQ since there is no subordination structure in the game to associate two formations in that manner.

Cheers

So if I want leader loss to have an effect on all (or sub-ordinate) units ,I'll have to create an event.

I thought: supply + leader(distribution) in a HQ-unit has effect on the sub-ordinate units, because of the command level that you can give the units.
