Hi,

Regarding the FSCC using the A10's...…… if you immediately place air/heli units on resupply the AI will ignore them until you're ready to give them an order. Just remember this has to be done for every turn you want to hold them back for.

In the past I suggested that FSCC/Player control could be split at the battery level as required. That way you could always retain control of your air and some arty and FSCC would control only whatever you didn't designate as player controlled over the course of a turn.

Hope it makes the cut for SS.

Great AAR's by the way! [sm=00000436.gif]

Rob.

Rob,

That is a very good idea - and I hope it makes the cut for SS, too.

Glad you like my AARs. I have fun doing them!

All the best,

I think we have a good solution to the problem of the FSCC grabbing assets for Southern Storm. All I can say for now.

Jim,

Good to hear.

The Soviets keep moving...

Right now, I am losing.... A tactical loss at the moment. But, it is time to attack and try to claw back up to a draw...

I'm still losing, but my counter attack is gaining steam.

MikeJ19 -> RE: Fulda (5/10/2020 2:26:17 PM)

Game over - a loss...

What did I do right?

My use of the mobile artillery and MLRS was great. The MLRS took out 141 soviet units, including 96 tanks. My M109s took out another 35 tanks.

Mines – I think the placement of the artillery delivered mines also helped to slow down the Soviets.

Deployment of my reserve went well and was timely. If I had not moved them when I did, the result would have been worse.

What could I improve on?

I gave up too much space, too early. The 28,000 VPs that the Soviet picked up from objective hexes were the biggest difference. I was worried about that from the outset, but I should have sacrificed depth for more forward defences.

My countermoves from the NW were too late. If I had launched them earlier, I might have been able to blunt the Soviet advance.

MikeJ19 -> RE: Fulda (5/10/2020 2:28:33 PM)

Overall, it was a very amusing and fun battle. I really enjoyed it.

There was something off about the AH. Mine did nothing and the Soviets did not even use their hinds.

I may try this one again. It was very enjoyable. Here is a look at the end locations and what the Soviets actually had coming my way.

BeirutDude -> RE: Fulda (5/11/2020 8:27:24 PM)

Is that the Fulda scenario I designed? Looks familiar!

MikeJ19 -> RE: Fulda (5/11/2020 10:33:47 PM)

Al,

Yes, it is. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing it!

I'm going to be trying it again - to do better, I hope!

All the best,
