PanzerCro -> USSR mobilization - bug or not ? (4/10/2020 5:26:24 PM)

Playing as Axis against AI. I dropped two FSJ's on England in May 1940. Took Manchester and USSR mobilization jumped from 20% to 80% and by January 1941. they declared war on me. Is this normal or is this bug ? It seems pretty big jump and basically ties your hands when it comes to Sealion in 1940.

Very normal, alas, tho from a gameplay balance standpoint probably reasonable.

Hi

The scripts can only swing the USSR 20-25% towards the Allies from this, so I don't understand how this could have happened.

Has anything else been taking place in your game, especially ahistorical/early declarations of war?

Nothing unhistorical has happened prior to UK landing. Only after when UK recognized Vichy France instead of Free France.

My current multiplayer game has seen the Russians prepare for war in September 1940 and join the Allies in October. No diplomacy with them was involved.

The things that were different from most other play throughs are as follows:

Allied intervention in Finland succeeded. The Strategy guide says this is supposed to shift them 12-15% toward the Axis.
Axis went for manual invasions of Denmark and Norway instead of using the decision.

The only popup received concerning Russia was them being angered by the invasion of Yugloslavia (either August or September of 1940). Even though this may have been the straw to break the camel's back, they were already far ahead of the usual pace for mobilization.

It feels as if the situation in Finland (which I have never seen happen before) may have shifted them in the wrong direction.

(EDIT: I believe I found the answer in this particular case. It is my opponent's first time playing as the Axis. He did not realize the full implications of leaving some of the key cities in Manchuria ungarrisoned, and two of them were not. It does seem a little inconsistent that this does not result in a warning message similar to the American isolationists complaining about two many units on Hawaii etc.)

Hi Dalwin

I discovered yesterday that there was an error with the Manchukuo Garrison message in that it missed off one or two of the cities in Manchuria, and therefore wouldn't appear every turn (at the same time it was appearing for some players when it shouldn't have done).

However, they would have received a report at the start of the game to advise them not to leave those locations empty, and the locations are also given on page 2 of the Strategy Guide.

We will get the message that appears every turn fixed in a forthcoming patch too. [:)]

As to Finland, I've checked the scripts and a successful Allied intervention definitely moves the USSR towards the Axis by 8-12%.

This happend to me once, but I didn't respected the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and hold all Poland. By November or December of 1940 the Soviets were declaring war when 1 paratroop unit was raiding Bristol that was empty.
