I'm sure many CMANO and CMO scenario designers wanted to do this but were only waiting
for the historical justification to launch such a scenario and here it is.

Operation Sandstone: An American survey of Britain’s Cold War beaches for the purposes
of a US D-Day style landing on British beaches, to counter a Soviet invasion and occupation
of Britain.

Which I'm sure was just the preparatory work for all the other preparations following any
Soviet '7 days to the Rhine' and other Soviet and Warsaw Pact plans; to invade Western
Europe including the United Kingdom; together with NATO's 'Stay behind armies' ready &
waiting 'to be activated' following any such Soviet or Warsaw Pact invasion of their country.

This fits with my own "Sea Bear" (a pun on Operation Sea Lion) ideas, which could be done in any time period/technology level, albeit with a massively beefed up Soviet navy.

There'd be "Sea Bear South" (Across the Channel) and "Sea Bear North" (Giant fleet of amphibs landing in Scotland).

Also I feel obligated to post this translated and declassified primary source that includes landing operations.
