nice

A new mechanics override has been added: Public.NoContactExchange. When activated, friendly sides do not automatically exchange contact information (new or updated contacts) or any contact-related messages. (The default behavior is that they do). This can be useful in order to route contact information & exchange through other network-modelling systems.

Any chance of seeing it in base CMO as well? It would fix a lot of scenarios ("Old grudges never die" comes to mind)

CLI version, "Monte-Carlo on steroids" indeed, very nice.

Fascinating. I’ve worked with large and small Monte Carlos for particle physics experiments and medical imaging. I’m curious on how it would be implemented for a military operation.

Can anyone recommend a good paper or article on this?

I can't post links because I'm a n00b but if you search for 'Simulation Studies of Naval Warships using the Ship Air Defence Model (SADM)' that is an accessible start-point.

The cool thing about the Monte Carlo feature in Pro is that it puts rapid operational analysis on the analyst's desktop. Previously this level of detail needed a server farm and the standard answer was "Come back in a year when we're done."

Thanks Struan76, I found the article, nice overview.

The MC in Pro sounds impressive. It is easy to write brute force MC code, but optimization and determining the symmetries in the problem requires real insight. It must be much more than simply running the simulation umpteen times using a multi-dimensional distribution of initial parameters.

I imagine that such simulations could only be used to model small scale interactions because the number of variables would increase exponentially with the number of assets involved.
Thanks again.

Congrats to the Command team for their work.

Congratulations - a great result for all the blood, sweat, toil and tears...
