Washington, Kansas, Georgia and Nebraska had the production factories for the B-29 in its various models. Never knew that! https://www.b29-superfortress.com/b29-superfortress-production-assembly-plants.htm All early arrivals of the 29 show up in Eastern USA*. Does anyone know what the asterisk means? The frustrating part that I have found is they show up intact on the East Coast, but you have to immediately transfer them some place to use them instead of being able to fly them. This transfer causes them to become unusable until repaired which takes quite a bit of time since they are a service rating 5. The 29 should have been able to cross the USA on its own and not have that waiting period. Maybe the dates are adjusted for this? Trust me, my opponent wishes they were service rating of 500, but I would like to use them a bit sooner. Any ideas or workarounds on this one?

Just think of all the 1000s of supply expended to expand those factories! Seriously, looking at factory photos like that you realize the Axis had no chance

In Georgia, the B-29s were built by Bell Bomber in Marietta. That later became the Lockheed Martin facility that's still building military aircraft today.

My father was an engineer on the C-5 project at Marietta in the late 60's. I saw the blue Angles for the first time there[8D]....GP

They show up in Eastern USA because they were going to India before deploying to China. The route by the early squadrons: The B-29’s departed Pratt AFB [Kansas]for Gander Lake [Newfoundland, Canada]. From Gander, the route was to Marrakech, Morocco, non-stop over the ocean. Then to Cairo, Egypt, Karachi, India, and the final destination, Chakulia, India

I didn't think the B version went to China. Still, they probably should have the range to fly from Georgia to San Fran without having to disassemble and crate them up! Oh well, from what I tell, they show up at the right time. Beginning of March 1945. However their op tempo was slower on reporting to theater because they did workups for a couple of months before heading to Tinian, Guam or Saipan. As a player, I would skip the workup and just put experienced pilots in them, so the way they move right now, it forces a bit more of a slowdown. When you look at those manufacturing pictures...its absolutely incredible what we were able to gear up to do as a country.

I am flying my -1 version out of India and China. Flying the -25 version out of Marianas and the B version will be going to the islands as well. After they put all the nuts and bolts back on.

Weren't the early B-29 units based in China and to get there, they flew from USA to North Africa, India and finally China? I guess the designers wanted players to move them off-map from EC to Aden?

I think you are forgetting about the personnel and equipment that support the planes. To get from Kansas City; where all the early B-29's were sent to the USAAF modification center, they could fly directly to the West coast; the ground personnel went by train from whatever US base they were stationed at. My father's unit flew their bombers to Europe. The Queen Mary; unescorted, carried the ground personnel to Africa.

Its not so much the trip to India and China...have no issue with that one. I have moved a variety of troops, planes, and subs in that direction. Its the B29B model that shows up in March, starts on East USA, and has to be crated to move to San Fran. Should just be able to fly. Looking at the stats, only lose about a week until they are all back to flyable. Just a pain. Not really that BORKED. But sort of.

The B29-B, made in Georgia, was too wide to fit through the Panama Canal so it had to sail around Cape Horn. Live with it.

They prepped for over a year for deployment to China via India, but were 'diverted' to the Marianas. He was there sometime in 44 thru early 46.
