Learning this game once again. Just wondering if there will be a EIA 2?

For my part, no. I cannot speak for Marshall Ellis and whether he might attempt such a project in the future if/when he returns to EIA code development.

See also UPDATE I posted several years ago. The end result of that little experiment was that the code string conversions from ANSI to UNICODE proved to be well beyond my code maintenance abilities. So again, for my part, I will continue my CPR efforts to keep EIA going.

In some fairness, this game continues to run fine under Win10 and my updates have fixed bugs and made other improvements/enhancements. The past several months have been busy with the v1.23.05 beta and resolving various issues. The good news is that MapleLeaf has a couple of pbem games running smoothly now and has reported no issues in the past few weeks. This has allowed me to press ahead with v1.23.06 beta and I should have that in pretty good shape for playtesting soon. After that we need to update/finalize the 1812 scenario issues and we'll be ready for a v1.23.xx official patch this summer. All in all, that's good news for players who are still playing, starting to play, or perhaps returning to this fine game after being discouraged years ago. Welcome back!

Remake? Did they ever finish the first version?

Welcome back. Nothing is ever *really* finished. Try the latest v1.23.07 beta and see what you think. It has been a long time, but the game is playing pretty good now, much better than before.
