First off, I am not really following my plan that I had developed. I should have looked more closely to see when the rest of AGC was going to arrive. I have mainly been working with the lead elements of the two Pz groups, not the entire AGC. I will continue with my current approach...

I have received a bunch of reserves! Yeah!

The door is open in the North, for the moment. I completed the destruction of the majority of the Soviet forces near POLOZK and am on the outskirts of NEVEL. From there, I can exploit NE towards VELIKIYE LUKI (there was a wonderful computer game set for a battle there) or SE towards VELIZH. I want to send some forces in both directions. Going North may help spread out the Soviet response and going SE will help put pressure on the Soviet troops West of SMOLENSK. It feels good forcing my opponent into a tough decision space.

In the area South of VITEBSK, I am going to rest for the most part. I want to complete the destruction of the Soviet Tank Division. Otherwise, may juggle units a bit to find better supply locations.

My reinforcements are going to be split – some heading towards NEVEL and the rest to VITEBSK.

On the 14th I launched only one attack - very low number for me when I'm attacking. In fact most of my units did not even move... I need more supply

Another day has passed. I'm a little worried about my pace, but supply issues, and the Soviets, are causing me lots of issues.

Interested to hear about your struggles with supply and pace. I find it nearly impossible to keep units supplied and maintain any pace.

Also I have noticed a number of HQ's in front line positions. I have always avoided this out of fear of losing the HQ. Have you experienced any HQ losses? Perhaps I have been overly cautious and need to use my HQ's on the line.

Tom,

I do not like using HQs in the front line, but have done so for a couple of reasons:

1. Blocking retreat option for the Soviet units,
2. A lot of HQs have artillery or AT units that help in attacks, and
3. Keeping units close to HQs for supply purposes.

So far, I have not lost any HQs - they have been attacked, but usually retreat. This is a problem with the game mechanics - HQs should be more vulnerable overall. However, the end result is not a bad balance.

As for the struggle with supply and pace - it is a real life issue. I wish that I could control where the supply is given. So, if I had 100 supply points, could I give certain units more than others... However, that would be a very difficult mechanism to set up.
