MTTODD -> Subs losing their strike (5/23/2020 7:26:43 AM)

I have a sub with 1 strike left, I change its mode to hunt and attack a visible ship, but it then loses it's strike. So not allowing me to attack the ship.

I have reloaded the game and done a similar move with the same ship but with different moves and it does not happened.

Is it a bug or am I missing something here ?

Many thanks for any help.

Were you at war with him yet?

Yes. German sub v allied destroyer 1942

So is this a bug?

Or is there a reason for a sub losing it's strike when moving next to a seen target ?

Many thanks

Thanks for the report and the only time I am unable to attack another ship, following similar steps, is if the sub did a naval cruise first. If this is the case then it cannot attack the ship after it has moved, but it will also have zero AP left as well.

Is this possibly what happened the first time you did this?

FYI, Naval Cruise will not allow any naval unit to attack after it moves as this is one of the drawbacks on using Naval Cruise.

Hi Hubert,

No the sub did not use naval cruise before I moved it.

Unfortunately I do not have the save game to send you. But if it happens again , I will post again on the forum.

Thanks for a great game, it is very addictive (my wife not so impressed!)

Take care.

Unless you can repeat consistently the bug or show some video evidence, kind of tough for software dudes to fix. I do believe you, why else would you type it?

Now, I got a weird bug the other day. Paid the high cost for "LR-Amphib", and the unit disappear completely. They went AWOL. Happens, UFO's, no extra charge. Maybe I pressed Disband or something by mistake.

My point being. What your brain thinks and what you clicked can be different things.

Please reproduce with a video, including the steps.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the game [:)]

For the naval cruise guess, one of the reasons I thought it might have been this is because you can enter into naval cruise mode by clicking on the unit twice before moving. First click is regular move (blue highlight hexes), second click is naval cruise mode (orange highlight hexes).

If you possibly accidentally entered into naval cruise mode by a second click then this could explain it.

Yes, very true without a consistent repeat they are indeed very hard to track down and fix.
