SeanSask -> Move Vichy Units to map error (5/23/2020 10:40:01 PM)

I've run into a possible glitch with the "VF Move Land/Air Axis" Subphase. Reading the players manual, I think the game is trying to determine what to do with Vichy units on the production pool, but it is either freezing, or there is a form not displaying, or I am lacking understanding of what the game is telling me to do (it appears to allow me to select on-map French units, but I can't tell for what purpose). I can't save the game where it freezes, but I have attached the previous conquest phase autosave file.

Does this issue with Vichy seem familiar to anyone else?

I haven't downloaded your game, but during Vichy you have to take all the on-map Vichy units that are not in Vichy and move them into the closest Vichy hex that they can legally fit. There won't be many choices for where each unit can go, so if you pick one of them up, and move it randomly around the board, most hexes will just give an 'X', as you can't put it there. So if you don't know what is going on in this step, you could be at it for quite a while. The same applies to French units at sea. There will be very few legal ports they can move to , and they must all move to a port.

Thanks! I thought it would be something like that, but the game appeared to be not letting me move units to the closest legal hex, so I was baffled. I guess you have to be very precise with locating the unit in the exact middle of the hex, although I don't recall the game being this finicky with placing units in any other phase of the game.

No, placing the units works the same as any other placing the units. If you are somewhere in the hex, you get the circle to put it down.
