jagsdomain -> Withdrawing ships? (5/27/2020 3:01:00 AM)

I have a AP that I have to withdraw and I don't know see an option to do that? What am I missing?

Shellshock -> RE: Withdrawing ships? (5/27/2020 3:09:42 AM)

Need more information. Where is the AP currently located? Ships that have to be withdrawn usually need to be in specific locations like certain West Coast cities or off-map locations like Aden or Capetown. The option button is usually grayed out unless you are in one of those locations.

My reference stash (ALfred/michaelm info)

On map withdrawal ports are set based on the historical exit locations for ships leaving the Pacific:

1. Any level 9 port.

2. National home ports of the United States, Canada, India, Australia, and New
Zealand (with no port level requirement)

FYI, here are the current national bases {primary, alternate}:

{ BASE_SAN_FRANCISCO, BASE_EASTERN_USA }, // US Navy
{ BASE_SYDNEY, BASE_MELBOURNE }, // Australia
{ BASE_AUCKLAND, BASE_CHRISTCHURCH }, // New Zealand
{ BASE_ADEN, BASE_UNITED_KINGDOM }, // British
{ BASE_UNITED_KINGDOM, 0 }, // French
{ BASE_KARACHI, BASE_ADEN }, // Indian
{ BASE_MOMBASA, BASE_CAPETOWN }, // Commonwealth
{ BASE_VANCOUVER, BASE_CANADA }, // Canada

3. Any level 7 or larger port on the US or Canadian West Coast.

4. Any level 7 or larger Indian port East of Ceylon (including Ceylon itself)

5. Any level 7 or larger port in South Eastern Australia, plus Perth.

6. Any level 7 or larger port in New Zealand.

There is more to withdrawing a ship than is captured in Yaab's post.

Full details on withdrawing are provided in post #14 of this thread.

Thanks for the extra data Alfred. Sometimes I bang my head against the desk trying to figure out why I can't get the ship to withdraw. Of course, in 1945 now in my game so there are no more ship withdrawals.

Gotta be a "borked" story in there somehow.[:)]

That was quite the enlightening read. [8D] Thanks.

At the same time I'm mortified to find that all these years I've been sending these short-timer ships to the map's edges to be withdrawn, when I could have been doing it from more convenient locations like Ceylon, Australia or New Zealand. Ugh.
