AngrySwan -> Airstrikes on airfields (5/29/2020 11:26:13 PM)

You can attack an airfield with your planes if there are enemy planes on that airfield. Move your plane to the airfield if you do not see what is there but you think there are enemy planes (because they are out of ammo and have just retreated from the battlefield - you do not have to be Major von Boehm from the American training film of 1944 to tell that they went to their airfield to resupply, or you receive a message that an enemy bomber has arrived to Rostov airfield). Depending on the strength and type of your plane and the enemy plane (and the support it receives) the results can be very different. This is a risky attack because you can only attack an airfield with a plane when you cannot see what planes are on the airfield, and the odds can be not in your favor. You do not want to attack an airfield with Stukas just to run into a full strength fighter brigade. Also, most airfields are unprotected but you never know, there are some exceptions. So this attack is exceptional, best of all against a weakened enemy unit without ammo returning to its airfield to resupply. I have used this attack a few times, like Uman, Rostov and Tikhvin.
