SgtShultz2 -> my funny campaign with quick morale failures (6/6/2020 8:43:46 PM)

I started playing a Sicily campaign with my opponent. I wore down the initial Italian unit to the point it was supposedly destroyed and the operation was over. But then in the next operation, my opponent has the same depleted unit. It was not destroyed. So then I win a series of battles and each time I gain another Victory Location afterward. Eventually he only has a command unit left. So then we start a series of battles that end very quickly with morale failures after 1 or 2 of his men are hit. One battle started and a few shots go out, but nobody is hit. But it's a morale failure 5 seconds after the battle started.

Apparently we have to keep doing this until I capture all the territory on all the maps one VL at a time in each battle or maybe until I can kill the last man he has.

We were laughing while doing this.

The stock campaign was designed to be played from the US side. You can play it head to head but it won't be particularly well balanced as you are playing the historical situation / forces.

Forces are refreshed between Operations. If you completed the Gela operation by destroying the enemy your opponent will have started the Nicossia op with a new force. From memory I believe Gela has an Italian coastal defense company and Nicossia has a regular Italian rifle company. These forces may look similar but they're not the exact same.

You can win a map as Allies by taking a recon vehicle and driving it around the map grabbing VLs until there's only one left. At that point a morale failure will cost the Italians the map. There is also a minimum strength for the Company HQ team and if you keep doing hasty attacks it should only take ~2 battles before his last falls under strength and the force is destroyed.
