Ingtar -> UI Scaling (6/8/2020 3:21:01 AM)

Is there a way to scale the UI text that I have not found? This is nearly impossible for these old eyes to read on a 4k monitor.

Malevolence -> RE: UI Scaling (6/8/2020 3:38:05 AM)

4K monitor support was discussed in the following thread.

@To all,

There are 2 issues that keep getting a bit mixed up.

1. Should SE be playable with 4K monitor.

2. Should SE be playable with 4K monitor at native resolution without adjusting the monitor resolution or using my DPI 200% setting for doubling the pixels (ie. having super crisp graphics and fonts in 4K)

...

For point 1 i say yes. Either the resolution can be changed by the game, or with the latest patch we are getting good speed at the DPI 200% which just simulates a resolution change.

For point 2 i sadly say no, since that requirement would have me recode everything as well as requireing me to redo all graphics.

..

So concluding: What I am aiming at is a good and normal game experience for 4K owners, but only giving them the visual quality as if they had a HD monitor.

Best wishes,
Vic

As Malevolence said above.

In short:
4K Monitor + old eyes => Go to Prefs Tab and put to 200% DPI

Ideally you should use the Open Beta patch version for this as the speed is much better here.

Best wishes,
Vic

Hi,
I'm currently playing at 2560X1440 (native monitor res), 3/4 resolution, and scrolling the map is painful.
Lowering resolution at 1980X1020 speeds scrolling a lot, but the image is blurred.
Is there anything I can tweak to improve my playing experience?

zakblood -> RE: UI Scaling (6/26/2020 2:46:24 PM)

1440p is also called QHD (quad high definition) or WQHD (wide quad high definition) and is a display resolution that measures 2560 x 1440 pixels. This resolution is also commonly referred to as 2K, so

depending on the GPU, the horsepower needed is more, as it's 78% more pixels to display

https://www.displayninja.com/1920x1080-vs-2560x1440/

so add in this to the equation of does your system have the extra resources to run it if you have no issues at 1920x1080?

eg CPU, Memory and GPU

Resources shouldn't be an issue, GPU is NVIDIA 1060, CPU I7-4770K.
Moreover, I have no hassles playing at 2560 x 1440; problems arise as I switch to 5/4, 3/4, and 7/8 resolution.

rwbrown -> RE: UI Scaling (6/26/2020 11:05:29 PM)

I run 4K with the 1/2 UI scaling and while it works, the game definitely has some visual chug. It seems... unreasonable that a game released in 2020 wouldn’t natively support 4K. Hell, sell it as an optional graphics pack to justify the extra work and I would buy it.

ZiggyMaca -> RE: UI Scaling (6/27/2020 1:11:45 AM)

Why not run at a lower resolution than four -k? I mean you are setting the DPI to half to run it. As far as I see, it is not scaling the UI, it's scaling everything. Is that not the case?
