Leslac -> Minor protectorates and how to get rid of them? (6/11/2020 1:57:08 AM)

So I made a minor a protectorate pretty early on because I decided not to go that way, but to have a nice and peaceful border and be able to react to any major incursions. So far so good. But now I've explored most of the area around me and can see that the minor is surrounded on all sides by other minors or unclaimed land. So here's me thinking I'll just gobble them up - price of attacking them 8d10 happiness damage, 4d10 loyalty damage, 4d10 political damage [X(] What does all this mean? I guess happiness damage is to my cities? Loyalty is that underlying factor that happiness gravitates towards? What's political damage? And is there some way to either increase relations and end up incorporating minors in your nation? Or reduce relations and actually be able to attack without borking your own nation? And how would I go about doing that? I have several options for dealing with majors, but only two with minors - peace and protectorate (and obviously invading).
