I'd like to hear some opinions on what sort of ratios others are using in battle point levels for the different scenario types (advance, assault, and so on). I am mostly interested in battle generator games vs. computer opponent. Such as 2-1 for assaults vs. computer, that type of reply is what I would like to hear, and of course anybody's reasoning behind the levels they use. Thanks all.

The defense always has an advantage. They're entrenched or in fortified hexes, while the attackers must come to them. So they way I've been doing it (this was for v5.1, I think it shoud be even higher for v5.3+) is: Meeting engagement - even points; advance/assault 1.5 to 1 advantage in points for the attacker; river crossings (very difficult for the attacker) 2 to 1 point advantage for attacker. Remember, if you have the AI advantage on, it will negate the attacker's increased points.

Great!! Just the kind of reply I was hoping for, thanks very much. You rule! But you have brought to mind two new questions. How does the AI advantage work? What is the the advantage given to the AI? Also, what is the AI level button for, does it make the AI play better or worse than standard AI level? Thanks again.

AI advantage will give more troops to the AI.
