The Gnome -> Leader Personalty Traits (6/16/2020 5:07:47 PM)

Small item on my personal wish list: I love the ideology preferences that leaders have. That said, there are too many leaders who only have negative traits (ie Autocracy --, Mind -). You end up being in a situation that they can only have their loyalty hurt, and no way to raise it. For me this is super frustrating, and far too common a scenario.

I wish this was either a much rarer occurrence, or that there were more plentiful ways to raise loyalty directly.

I don't know how far into the game you are, but I find that just maintaining what I want bends their profiles over the long run. Even the profiles of the different Factions. After a while they just start seeing things your way, aligning their profile more and more with yours. Not all, not guaranteed, but overall in a pretty decent number.
I really love the simulation for that. It works really way and you get the satisfaction of 'winning them over'.
Another really well-executed part of the game imo!

What really defines relationship is the "Natural Relations Point". It does not mater how you damage or improove their relations, it always will rise or fall back to that.
If they join a faction, they also start to change in the direciton of said faction.

In a current game I have one guy with only negative left. A siglke "Government -" at a Governmetn score of 38. I still get a 73 under "Match of Regime and Leader Profile". I am not using him for other reasons, but he is not particulary unhappy.

Except of course that Natural Relation trends towards current relation. It's just a limiting factor on the severity of sudden swings, smoothing things over, but it won't save you in the end.
