Do you think we will have air unit on land counter (like old school wargame) or a flexible one like gary grisby war in the west ? As we have bigger hex and time frame so aircraft can likely flee away.

Airforce belongs in the area of "Major expansion". And the Poll indicates, it may come after navies. So no idea if we even get one, much less how it would work. After Navy we may know more.
