chief -> Serious Question (7/31/2003 7:43:08 AM)

To any Laptop User running SPWAW and looking forward to CL.

What minumum specs, OS, etc. are you presently using ?

I'm planning purchase and would like to know. Thanks again.

Supervisor -> (7/31/2003 7:42:57 PM)

No being part of the project anymore I can give you the last known specs:

Pentium 300 MHZ (or faster)
64 MB of RAM Recommend 128 MB
32 MB 3D graphics card.
Soundcard (100% DirectX 8.0, or later, compatible)
150 MB of free hard drive space.
8x spin CD-ROM
DirectX 8.0

I believe the DirectX requirement will have to be changed to 9.0 because this was what we had to upgrade too during the development to incorperate some new features. Without a good solid Alpha this specs may vary slightly as the game continues to progress.

Cheers Chief, glad I could help.:D

Note that one of my CL test machines is a Toshiba 5105-S607 laptop with 512MB Ram and a 32MB Nvidia GO video card - a 1.6 Ghz processor. Runs WIN XP and DX 9 (latest version).

My "low end" test machine is a 667 PIII with a 32MB Radeon AIW video card. That plays OK for me, but may be a bit sluggish to some.

My "regular" machine is an AMD XP 2400 with a 128MB Radeon 9600 Pro and 1 GB RAM. It flys on that...

chief -> Thanks Paul (8/3/2003 12:39:42 PM)

I tried SPWAW on an XP machine and had to run it in the compatibility mode and the only problem I had was that everything Zipped across the screen....Aircraft looked like the latest Mach 2 Aircraft...tanks moved from point A to B so fast you could not see them enroute, this of course was a movement of at least 4 hexes. I'm sure it'll be better when CL comes out. Thanks again guys. By the way is their anyway to slow Spwaw down in XP ?:)

Voriax -> (8/3/2003 9:45:07 PM)

Chief, tried fiddling with 'movement delay'? In preference menu.

Voriax

chief -> Voriax, will try (8/4/2003 12:20:30 AM)

Voriax: I'll give it a try, but I believe that will only delay time between moves, not the speed the item/object moves across the map. If I'm wrong I'll be the first to admit it. Will let you know. Thanks.

:) :cool:
