Zap -> OT lost audio (7/14/2020 11:13:51 PM)

Wondering if any one has an idea why i lost my audio yesterday on line? I was at a site and it just vanished. I can't hear anything but my volume control is half way up. Some suggestions of what it could be would help me in my search for the culprit. Could it be the failure of the audio on the motherboard?

Is it only online that you've lost your audio? Can you play a game and hear the audio?

I lost it in all cases games as well. I resolved it. It seems somehow my realtek driver was affected by whatever happened. I uninstalled the driver and then reinstalled a downloadable realtek driver from Realtek Site. Thank you for getting back to me Paulus.

Check your registry if you have a registry checker. CCleaner has one.

My wife's laptop sometimes loses sound. Somehow the setting for the speakers to use gets changed. I just have to go in to the sound settings and make sure the speakers are checked.

So I went in to look and to be truthful I'm not sure what I'm looking at nor not sure what i did pressed some buttons restarted computer and volume is back. Who knows if the fix is permanent. It could be tonight when I turn off the computer, tomorrow when I turn it on there could be sound or maybe there won't be. Right now I'll take the fix, whatever it was, and be happy its working again.

Finally, fixed. I went into sound setting did a test on audio. It gave me a message that it fixed the problem. And so it has. I don't how the problem arose or what was fixed. but now all is good.
