The text on the various retirement says a roll (presumably 1d100?) against a difficulty of seniority-X (depending on the type of card), but the actual roll seems to be xd20 (depending on the card) vs the seniority (unmodified).

The rolls are different for each class of retirement. The more expensive they are the more chance you'll be able to retire a higher seniority leader. The Bronze one can only be succesful against a really low seniority leader. Even if it fails it will reduce seniority however. And don't expect to be able to retire immediately very high seniority leaders. Bronze =3xd20, Silver =5xd20, Gold =7xd20

Right, I understand that. I'm just saying the actual rolls and the card text do not match.

When I was playing it would just show me the difficulty of the person that was selected and each card would tell me how many D20's it would roll
