Gunner98 -> [Fixed] Trouble updating to new DB (7/25/2020 3:52:12 PM)

Just installed the latest Beta (B1147.7) and trying to update from an old build (DB470) and the process locks up at the point where I should have an opportunity to select the INI file. See clip.

Save in next post

chrispman -> RE: Trouble updating to new DB (7/25/2020 4:01:41 PM)

Can confirm this. The FileChooser doesn't open.

SteveMcClaire -> RE: Trouble updating to new DB (7/25/2020 6:52:11 PM)

Logged for investigation. Can you provide the save please? Thanks!

SteveMcClaire -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (7/25/2020 7:04:49 PM)

Also - just a hunch. The dialog to open the INI file may be behind the app. Try hitting ALT+TAB when this happens and see if you can find the file open dialog box.

Gunner98 -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (7/25/2020 7:08:20 PM)

Thought I had put a save up, sorry. Here it is.

Will check the Alt-Tab bit.

Gunner98 -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (7/25/2020 7:16:18 PM)

No luck on the Alt-Tab, worth checking though

papymaj55 -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (7/28/2020 4:31:52 PM)

I am having this problem too.

SteveMcClaire -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (8/31/2020 3:52:18 PM)

Could you please try this in the 1147.8 update and let me know how it is now? Thanks!

Gunner98 -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (8/31/2020 7:46:44 PM)

Steve

Unfortunately the problem still persists. The DB upgrade gets hung up at the 'Select INI configuration file...' stage. The prompt does not appear. See screenclip.

But ... when I chose 'Deep-Rebuild (select manually)' things seem to proceed OK. When I check after the update it still says DB470 in the menu but if I reload the scenario it tells me that the DB is 487.

I need to go through to make sure the SBR took but it looks OK so far.

Still a couple problems though:

1. the pop up prompt to select the INI file is still not working
2. when updating through the deep rebuild button, the current DB should be visible immediately, shouldn't have to reload the scenario for it to update.

Thanks

Gunner98 -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (8/31/2020 8:05:51 PM)

Well having no munitions on any of the bases is an indicator that the SBR didn't take.

Oh and no cargo anywhere. Fixable but not fun.

Gunner98 -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (9/1/2020 9:33:16 PM)

Update - by manually applying the SBR script things now seem to be working.

So the work-around is to update to the latest DB - if the prompt for the INI file does not show up just close the window.

Next go to Editor/SBR/Apply SBR script and navigate to your INI file

This should work but am still checking things out.

SteveMcClaire -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (9/1/2020 11:39:38 PM)

Thanks for that information Gunner98. Will continue working on it.

Dimitris -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (9/3/2020 3:56:59 PM)

This _should_ be fixed in the next update release, please cross-check when possible.

Gunner98 -> RE: [Logged] Trouble updating to new DB (9/3/2020 8:07:40 PM)

Thank you that problem is indeed fixed

But is followed up by an error as seen in the clip.

I've never seen an error like this before but this is a new computer so who knows that is working in the background

When I hit continue the game remains open but is locked up
When I hit quit it shuts the game down
