kenigtiger -> Bombing the Reich 700 turns campaign problem (7/27/2020 7:00:37 AM)

Hello, World! I'm new here.

I've bought ED/BtR game in late 2013, just before joining the real war against nazis at Donbass in 2014, so I hadn't much time to play ED/BtR. Real war is a veryveryvery annoyning thing. It is not so interesting to play for the side that had won and the side that had much more resources than the enemy. So, a few years ago I began a 700-turns German Campaign and was making a turn or two when it was possible. From this day we have a new just-declared ceasefire here, maybe for a few days or weeks, so I launch the game this morning to countinue my little progress that is not even 1/10 of total campaign leight.

So, what is the problem? Here it is. Game date is Sept.23/1943 and AI again tried to penetrate my defences in North-West Europe with B-17 raid. 100 planes again. Intersepting this raid my fighter shot down 49 B-17G and near Utrecht, just after reaching the continent, this raid was devastated. I mean I've lost the track-mark of the leading group of the enemy bombers. Previous raids was not much succesfull than this but they were not totally destroyed like this one. From the 10 to 20 sept. 1943 leading bomber groups turned back few times, they had just a few palnes at landing but they survived. This one was the fist "daylight 100-planes raid" that was totally disrupted. The question is - what next? Can anyone who played more than 1-2 months/30-60 turns describe further progress in allies daylight 4-engine planes and crews building/respawning? If the enemy would not set at least 200-planes 4-engine daylight raid in two mounths everey day to hunt down my 109's... well... further 600 turns will be a "sitting ducks hunt" even if the allies will start to make a 300-planes raids at Christmas-43.

Here is the Screenshot of Day/campaign summary on 23 Sept.1943

Hi.
The benchmark I used for reaching victory was stopping the growth of the heavy bomber force. The Allies get @30 B17/24 a day replacements so losses in excess of 30 a day are required. At present you are managing this. Initial forces are around 1,000 'heavies'. However it will not get easier. If your rate of victories continues, the weather will get in the way and present an almost no-fly December, allowing an uninterrupted reinforcement of @1,000 heavies to the BG. Plus, when the weather clears, the better P-47 and new P-51 will be a much more dangerous proposition.
But your biggest danger is your wastage of pilots. Come January, the new LW pilots start to show a decrease in skills which will result in fewer damaged/shot down aircraft and yet more losses to the USAAF fighters. You seem to be throwing everything into the air and losses on IAR, DE, outclassed and obsolete aircraft are almost criminal. You need to get those units with G6 asap but your losses in that type are also approaching the number produced. Choose your places to attack with more aircraft(and better) and get a better kill ratio.
However a lot of this is for use in the future as you need to be on the latest patch. Have you upgraded before starting this campaign? A new patch is due very soon with revised Allied AI, restrictions/removal of some glitches that allowed Axis planes some cheats/impossible functions and a far superior weather system. Keep watching the forum. I am also waiting to start a new LW campaign when this is released.
Mark.

Should have noticed the 700 turn has been replaced with a 635 turn campaign a little while back. You are running what will be an out of date game I am afraid. You will not be able to transfer the save into the new patch and continue. But I'm sure the new patch will not be long in coming out.
