Turn 53: Clear across the board. This is it boys. First AGC cleared up its pocket netting 41k Russians at the cost of 400 Germans. Woo-hoo! It’s like 1941 all over again. AGS picked up another 10k of prisoners (100 Germans lost). AGN attacked first, using our beachhead to break through the Russian lines and seize the last resupply port on the Lagoda. Leningrad, here we come. Additionally, this allowed us to liberate three Finnish divisions that were blocked by Russian forts. These troops will help us extend our lines in the battles to come. AGC then decided to swing north with the intention of meeting up with AGN and destroying the Russians in the north. Two panzer armies swept north, clearing more than 100 miles, and pocketing 11 Russian units. If our plan goes well, we should be able to meet up with AGN next turn and possibly pocketing some 40 units. This might be ambitious – but at worst will cause a significant Russian retreat along the entire front and at best cause the capitulation of perhaps a million men. Along the Moscow front and south, we basically just held our ground, attacking where we could force a Russian retreat and capture a hex or two, but with three panzer armies now deployed in the north, the progress our infantry will be able to make against the dug in Russian soldiers will be limited. AGS encircled five more units and continued to push the front back, as we are now 40 miles from Boguchar. The 6th Army continued to attack relentlessly, pushing the Russians back towards the Don and Voronezh, although we are still 60-70 miles or so from the city. Overall, on our turn we lost 7600 men and took out almost 67k men. We’re looking forward to next turn and the mass prisoners we should be able to get from our pockets. The Russians launched a few minor counterattacks, and clearly spent rail capacity to start putting a line together east of the Volkhov pocket. Casualty report: End of Turn #53: 7 units destroyed for a total of 543 units destroyed. German Losses to date: 1.343 million men (25k last turn), 3694 AFV (114 last turn), 1707 aircraft (84 last turn) Russian Losses to date: 5.912 million men (123k last turn), 22312 AFV (97 last turn), 12318 aircraft (150 last turn) OOB Update: Germany – 3.89 million soldiers, 35.7k guns, 5702 tanks, 4143 aircraft Russia – 5.60 million soldiers, 73.3k guns, 5480 tanks, 9392 aircraft [image]local://upfiles/73178/F5D735139FF34A2287A9EDB88B023EC3.jpg[/image]
