Earthman -> Strategic Command: World at War (8/1/2020 1:24:19 PM)

I have a few questions, if anyone would be so kind to answer. 1) Does saying yes to Sondercommando aiding Iraq make any difference to their survival? 2) When the Indian XIII corps and the British I corps along with Ritchie HQ land at Basra did they actually start from somewhere on the map? 2) Dar-Es-Salaam (129,97) and Mombassa (129,95) do not seem to be blockaded at the same time when an "Axis Raiders Blockade the Port of Dar-Es-Salaam. That is to say South African units arrive at Mombassa anyway. Which is it, if either, or neither?
3) Where exactly does the Burma road run? Is it Rangoon-Lashio-Wanting-Kunming-Kweichow-Chungking? Is there a terminus which could be interdicted by Strategic Bombers? Or anywhere along this route to stop the flow of MPPs? Thank you for a reply.

The way I've always understood it is that China will receive it's 60 MPPs per turn for as long as the towns/cities of Kunming, Rangoon, Mandalay and Lashio are in Allied possession, and Hanoi is in enemy possession.

It sounds like it just works as an MPP grant to China as long as those conditions are met. As the Japanese, you can't interdict it with aircraft or shut it down at the source at Rangoon with blockaders. You basically have to go into Burma and capture Rangoon at least.

Hi Earthman

1) Yes, it reduces the chance of the Iraqis surrendering. See the top of page 19 of the 1939 World at War Strategy Guide for details. You can access this via the launcher or from one of the buttons at the top right of the screen while playing.

2) They deploy directly at Basra.

3) The raiding just affects the port of Dar-Es-Salaam, so Mombasa can still be used.

4) You will physically need to capture at least one of Kunming, Rangoon, Mandalay or Lashio to stop the Burma Road running.

Thank you all very much.
