AngryDeemon1 -> Back from Vacatio in Russia, brought Poklonnaya Gora pics (8/4/2003 8:34:35 PM)

Well I am back from a summer of indescriminate relaxation in Moscow. I planned to make it out to Kubinka this year, but never got around to i due to all of the umm...work:) However I brough some Poklonnaya gora pics, per Red's request, of both the panoramas and small arms inside the museaum and sme of the armor outside it (including the allmighty Ha-go tank, often jeered at but most fearsom up close).
Within the next few days I will be scanning them and posing them on my host wih links in this thread. Pics will be posted in 5 meg batches since that is my limit:)

AngryDeemon1 -> (8/6/2003 2:15:11 AM)

Ok here is the first part of the pics containing mostly Artillery and Armor (as well as some small arms) Part two will ocntain panoramas from within the museum. The handsome young man is me.

Pictures are here

Warhorse -> ????? (8/6/2003 2:43:02 AM)

Belisarius -> (8/6/2003 2:46:56 AM)

Belisarius -> (8/6/2003 4:36:05 AM)

Thanks for the link, AD! Much better.

Now, this is an excellent pic of a Marder III. :)

What does the text on the back say? I translate it to "Kids, hang on!", can any German speakers correct me? It would be appropriate (and quite humorous!:p) considering the tight fighting compartement...

Who's the lovely lady? Mrs. AngryDeemon?

Edit: Foo? NOW I can see all pictures! :eek: :confused:

AngryDeemon1 -> (8/6/2003 5:35:47 AM)

Young lady is the daughter of my father's lady freind. Being the galant person that I am I helped her up into the safest place in the marder. (Shortly after this picture was taken, the t-34 in the background scored a direct hit on the marder's side, miraculously i survived)

I can’t see pics also, no disappointment although, I’m seeing Poklonaya gora almost every day during my after work bicycle rides.

How did you decide to go to Russia? Just wondering.

AngryDeemon1 -> (8/6/2003 5:48:53 PM)

Why I am a third (at least) generation Muscovite:) Where else would i go to take a vacation from "the land of liberty"?

I visit Moscow twice a year on average.

What the hell is this:

Looks like a very minimalist approach to making guns:)

M4Jess -> (8/6/2003 6:49:03 PM)

Cool Pics AD..but where the hell are the M4s!!??:p

AngryDeemon1 -> (8/6/2003 7:08:22 PM)

Well, I read it as "Jungs holt fest", wich would translate to ... nonsense.

I suspect some Russians have painted that writing on during the repainting of the Marder.

It's like the Crates in MOH which are labeled as "Eigenschaft der deutschen Wehrmacht", which translates to "Feature of the german Wehrmacht". Or the little switches are labeled "Eis/Aus", wich meanss Ice/Off" :rolleyes:

AngryDeemon1 -> (8/7/2003 9:10:06 PM)

Last Chance to get a lok at the pics via my index. Tommorow or the day after i will be scanning and posting pics of the panoramas
