I read this the other day, having earlier in the year visited Fort Canning and the Battlebox and travelled along the Jurong Road in Singapore. Its very British centric as you would expect, but I found it fascinating as an easy read.

Not everyone surrendered in Singapore, some made a dash for it, this is the story of one group who did so, and it shows some interesting aspects of the ways things were organised, the escape lines that were already set up and the details of their journey.
