I get this error when I try and fire a patriot missile manually. Even though I have other radar tracking it it will
not fire until it gets very close. What do I have to do to get it to fire farther out? How do I correct this error?

The PATRIOT isn't CEC capable, it needs to detect and track the target with its own radar to fire.

Is there a way to make it CEC by adding a specific Comm?

Not that I know of for Patriot related munitions without editing the database.

I am not 100% sure, but don't think its about the comms capability. There is a CEC flag in the weapons database that needs to be thrown. I think its listed as one of the weapon's properties in the db viewer.

So I was thinking it was in the comms because the RIM-174 blk 1b says it supports CEC in the comms section.
I checked the database in the weapons and only 4 weapons have buddy illumination for CEC, if I am looking in the
right place. None of which are the RIM-174. I was hoping it was in the comms somewhere so I could add it.

I found it in a different place in the weapon codes and it has the RIM-174A blk 1b in it.
So it is not in the comms and it is a weapon characteristic. Darn I wanted to be able to add it to a platform.
