ORIGINAL: bradcue Your opening is interesting; I hadn't considered a full-KB commit to Singapore area before. Nearly everyone decides between the standard PH opening, or maybe a Manila strike. There are pros and cons all around that probably deserve a string by itself, but I can see some of the pros....you neutralized Force Z and facilitated these quick landings on Sumatra and Java. I don't think you can do that without KB down there. An alternative to that opening may be splitting KB on Turn 1; sending half to Singapore area, and the other half to Manila or PH or other area that allows you to quickly support a move into SW Pac. But not sure on that. Thanks, good points In my view, splitting up KB can really dilute the quality of the initial blows where you may end up damaging a number of ships but failing to sink anything of consequence. In this game the risk of having KB concentrated in the DEI has worked well (better than I hoped) as it has allowed me to really work over the Dutch and British very quickly. I just don't see the value in targeting the old US BBs any more. In the first 12 months of the war they are more of a liability than an asset just waiting to be torped by an I Boat.
