Somehow Tasmanian devils came up in conversation the other day, and we all realized if it weren't for Looney Toons we'd have zero awareness of that species.

Cheers,
CB

There was a survey many years back that found that 75ish% of foreigners (non-Oz)thought it was an accurate portrayal.

Ian R -> RE: OT: Well, there goes Oz land (10/7/2020 10:55:51 AM)

Tazzie devils are cuddly little pets. After a bit of training they even stop peeing on you.

So are drop-bears, if you see them coming and catch them and giv'em a hug. And feed them stuff they like.

Ian R -> RE: OT: Well, there goes Oz land (10/7/2020 10:57:12 AM)

BTW:

The wonderful land of Oz.

RangerJoe -> RE: OT: Well, there goes Oz land (10/7/2020 11:18:40 AM)

I one gave my stepmother a T-shirt with Taz on it. It said "If you saw a blur, it was me."

I had already posted about this.

Drop Bears are OK, just dont sleep under a tree.

We hope not, because people are making easy money catching and selling them. Imagine that - are you familiar with the underpants gnome episode on Southpark? Collect camels, ship to the UAE, profit.

Bundy rum is the drink of choice for drop bears. They appreciate tourists who shout them a bottle of Bundy. No Bundy, they tend to dislike intruders.

They quite like a kangaroo rogan josh. Not too heavy on the spice, though.

We have Bundy rum here but we call it Buckley cough medicine!! Bundy rum could explain the dilemma the poor Koala face!

Perhaps washed down with a Margaret River chardonnay? A SA Coonawarra red would be too strong for the delicate flavour of the kangaroo.

According to MP's Australian wine guide, aren't you looking for Chateau St. Waggawagga? I always get that one confused. Either that's a fine light red or it's good for degreasing engines.

Bruce, professor in Aristotelian philosophy at the university of Woolloomooloo would be your local expert.  Regularly gets together with Bruce from English, Bruce from engineering and Bruce from human resources to do quality testing.
