Admiral DadMan -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/20/2020 2:31:36 PM)

Your px is too high

Cavalry Corp -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/20/2020 3:05:31 PM)

Thanks for your suggestions tried the following - no joy or worse

2560,1920,1720,1680,1600,1440....

Admiral DadMan -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/20/2020 3:47:45 PM)

Try -dd_sw and/or -deepColor

Cavalry Corp -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/20/2020 4:02:05 PM)

Tried this "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition ORIGINAL\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px3440 -py1440 -nofire -deepColor -dd_sw

and DC is already in my command line see above

all no joy

Trugrit -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/20/2020 4:49:51 PM)

looks like your monitor or graphics card may be left justifying the screen during replay.

Do you have a Nvidia graphics Card?

Cavalry Corp -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/20/2020 5:22:06 PM)

Thanks ... Yes I think I have GeForce GTX1650

Last setting tried was "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition ORIGINAL\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px3440 -py1440 -nofire -dd_sw

this loaded better the other loads were to the right of the screen this was more central but could not click any of the game menu buttons??

Trugrit -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/20/2020 5:40:31 PM)

The game may be scaling the replay. I’m not sure how to center that.

If you right click on your desktop and from the dropdown choose Nvidia Control panel.

Then try the Size Tab to see it will fix the overscan.

Try to fit by checking the box I've shown circled below.

Cavalry Corp -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/21/2020 3:49:34 PM)

Thanks for this alas it made no difference - also tried desk top resizing - no joy.

What about if I try the scaling as FS and No scaling??

Cavalry Corp -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/21/2020 4:00:55 PM)

Tried the scaling as FS and No scaling= no joy.

You can see the game is slightly to the right of the screen even on opening, this is a clue i think to the problem. One of the switches did make it come in the middle but none of the buttons then worked, so could not even get to the replay.

Did you remember to go back and put a -f or a -w in your command line?

Thank you very much for your help. I tried both the settings -r and -w withith and without the -deepColor as well. I'm sorry but nothing works. I have attached another screenshot of the typical screen I'm getting no matter what the settings.

still no joy

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition ORIGINAL\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -w -px3440 -py1440 -nofire -dd_sw

BBfanboy -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/21/2020 7:09:38 PM)

Part of the problem could be that you left the game to run on CPU1, which Windows uses and interrupts other programs to do its thing.

Try adding -SingleCpuOrders -cpu3

inqistor -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/21/2020 8:18:39 PM)

Try pxf, and pyf instead of px/py. It also behaved weirdly on my new laptop without fs.

BBfanboy -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/22/2020 1:43:57 PM)

The combat animations are always of lower resolution so I imagine that results in a smaller screen too.

Did you say that the resolution you are using is one of the native resolutions for your monitor? Sometimes the monitor just will not handle the forced resolution that you set for the video card.

Cavalry Corp -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/22/2020 1:47:40 PM)

Thanks for the input. I'm using only one of the resolutions suggested by the computer. this is actualy the maximum one. The problem is the whole game not just the combat replay is squeezed into a tiny area.

I am happy with any other suggestions put forward. Maybe I won't get the full screen but I would like it's only 2 or 3 times bigger than it is.

Try removing what appears to be an extra space in your command line string between "-pyf" and "1440". I don't think the game engine recognizes that as a valid y-axis size and is defaulting to 1024x768.

Cavalry Corp -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/22/2020 3:52:15 PM)

Mike, I thought someone might say that it looks like a space but actually there is not. I have just checked again. I do agree in my post it looks like there is a space. But if you delete the space it actually deletes the 1 , so no space.

Any other ideas question mark? I think actually you are on the right track that is something wrong with that back on checking I cannot see what it is.

GetAssista -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/22/2020 7:46:10 PM)

try -f instead of -w as others suggested. Windowed mode is wacky on modern PCs

Here's mine

"C:\Matrix Games\WitP AE\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1600 -py900 -cpu4 -SingleCpuOrders -dd_sw -altFont -multiaudio -deepColor -skipVideo -archive -w

I cannot get the game to work full screen either, I get all sorts of weird graphic stuff. The size I settled on is one size down from the native resolution of the monitor.

Did any one mention the -dd_sw switch whatever that does.

Cavalry Corp -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/23/2020 9:49:49 AM)

Tried -f , makes the screen huge and blurry - would be happy with something just a bit bigger I suppose - should i go back to trying other res settings.

Chris - thanks I will tinker about with your suggestions - Sussex... used to live there.

Just move. Must change address. I'll do it now.

Cavalry Corp -> RE: Set the game up in high res and loads fine but then this. (10/23/2020 11:17:28 AM)

Far away? We moved from Black Boys in East Sussex to Devon six years ago. Although I liked where we lived this is much better. I am a very rural kind of guy.

And going to try fiddling with the resolution settings of the game later. Unfortunately it's on my new PC with Windows 10 as well, and there are quite a lot of other issues to be resolved.
