Hey all. Quick question in understanding chain of command benefits. Does an ABDA Inf unit need that specific Corp HQ or Army HQ in range to receive benefits, or can ANY Corp/Army HQ suffice (ex Burma Command).

Thanks in advance!

Any allied HQ is fine. But only one HQc/HQy together with only one HQ (command one) can provide AV bonus.

Thanks for the quick response. Am I OCD for wanting to role play strict command chain operations? Anybody have their own ‘house rules’ and try this before?

Appreciate the help!

IRL, units can be assigned operationally to support action under another command while still owned by their officially assigned command for administrative purposes. I think that is the rationale for one Corps or Army HQ coordinating the battle involving units not assigned to them.

I tried to keep HQs and LCUs together in China but garrison requirements split them and battle blew the plan out the window. If you do decide to do such a thing you need to keep an up-to-date organization chart and look ahead a month or two for what new units will come in. You also need to concern yourself with ground stacking limits if you assign too many units to the same HQ. If you are on a tiny island you cannot spread your troops in circle around the HQ to reduce the stacking issue.

There's no requirement for this in the game, and you'll find that with the game complexity you don't need to add another level.

It would be nice to do if only it not be so expensive. You have to spend PP to change commands for any unit, and you are always in need of PP cause first and foremost you want to unlock restricted units for transport. So there is no room left for any secondary roleplay considerations. This holds for both sides

You don't have enough PP (Political Points) to change HQs around the way I see you want to do. The big advantage the Allies have is non-restricted Command HQs. You will want to remember to have an Army/Corp HQ and then a Command HQ prepped for the same base when you go on the offensive to get the huge AV bonus if the dice gods smile your way.

Ok, if you insist.

Whose HQ a squadron belongs to plays hell on it as far as receiving replacement planes and upgrading models if they're not in range.
