c3k -> How do I...(fire multiple weapons) (10/26/2020 2:43:30 PM)

Gents,

First, I'd like to get @mods to open up a new sub-forum, for "How do I..." questions. I hate spamming the main forum with questions like this, but neither is it appropriate for the Tech Support forum.

Just a thought.

Second...my question: Playing a Surface tutorial, I have three light cruisers/destroyers in a group (HMS Exeter, the Bremen, and...hmm). Anyway, between them, they have 16 Harpoons (8x on two ships). I want to Manually Target a single enemy ship with a salvo from two of my group.

I can allocate, say, 1 Harpoon from the first ship. That's fine.
When I select my 2nd ship and try to allocate two additional harpoons from its magazine, instead, the game adds to the number of harpoons allocated from the FIRST ship.

So, I want: ship 1, 1 harpoon; ship 2, 2 harpoons.
I get: ship 1, 3 harpoons.

I also need to figure out how to plot separate paths for the different missiles. I can plot ONE path, and that's it. I cannot plot separate ones for the salvo from the different ships.

Any suggestions?

To your first point, I think thats what this forum is for:

https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tt.asp?forumid=1282

Are you using the manual attack button (shift-F1)?

I used a scenario I had handy to test. Using Shift-F1, I selected an ammo bunker. I then allocated one Tomahawk for it from a CGN. I then selected a DDG and allocated two Tomahawks.

As you can see in the box in the lower right, there are 2+1 Tomahawks allocated from the respective ships for the ammo bunker.

Is this what you are asking about?

Thanks for checking. That's what I -thought- I should see, but that's not how it works. When I get home to my gaming rig, I'll take some screenshots and post a save or two.

(The War Room: yep, that seems like it'd fit. (Okay, the title did not, but reading some of the threads, that seems to be exactly what I was thinking of. ;) )

"Share your best strategies and tactics with other players by posting them here"

I would assume the opposite is true also.

Here is cut down scenario just to show its working as expected. The missiles are already allocated and when you hit start, it launches 2+1. If you check the magazines after launch The Tomahawks are decremented properly from each firing ship.

Definitely should not be working like that as thewood noted. If you find it really is, note the steps you're taking to reproduce it and maybe we can confirm a bug or edge case that needs to be handled. I do nothing but manual allocations and never seen such happen, unless of course I mistakenly select the same first ship again without noticing)

Crap.

So, here's what I did wrong:

User error...and embarrassingly simple. Thanks.
