not sure if anyone is still here.

but all was going well, about the 10th turn, and finland surrendered to the USSR.

they hadn't lost a battle. there were no attacks, their cap was secure.

what gives?

Hi boldairade,

Most likely Finland feels threatened.

The game mechanic for this revolves around a line of markers on the map (white letter 'S', near Helsinki) within Finland. If a Soviet unit reaches one of these Finland will sue for peace immediately as they consider that their cause is lost and that the Soviets, from here on in, are probably unstoppable.

It's based on what's known about official Finnish policy of the day in the event of the Soviets breaking through the Mannerheim line and penetrating beyond the Karelian Isthmus into Finland proper.

Cheers,
Cameron

thank you! i didn't know if this forum was still alive. and that makes sense. i got careless and left a gap and the soviets streamed through it. they didn't attack, but they must have tripped that wire.

i'll be more careful!
