I hope I am posting this to the right part of the forums...

I'm working on a scenario ("Danger in the Aegean, 1946") and it's been reported that Corsairs will land on the CL Little Rock. The Little Rock does have some float planes, but it probably should not be launching Corsairs.

I'm attaching the most recent version of the scenario.

I didn't try your scenario (yet), but I have seen this kind of thing before. CMO does not distinguish seaplanes from ordinary 'carrier capable', so seaplane cruisers just end up being the same as small aircraft carriers as far as modeling is concerned.

Hi Mgellis,

Strictly speaking this is WAD; for CL 92 Little Rock to host, launch and recover fixed wing aircraft it requires a hangar, elevator, catapult and arresting wire. This means that aircraft that are the right size--in this case small--like the Corsair can land, otherwise you would be unable to recover the hosted aircraft.

I've got some ideas on how to improve here, but it may be a while before we get to this one. Suggestions are welcome!

Hi it's a work around I did awhile back to get sbips to launch and recover their spotter planes for WW2 Ships

Hi toucan always create an aviation facility which combines hanger,catapult,davit/crane etc with the ship having to be stationary to recover and add a flag for the relevant aircraft which we have for seaplane/float plane to recovery and launch via the above mentioned air facilities

How about a flag for runway requirements?

That already exists (as I understand it). Aircraft need a certain amount of landing distance and facilities offer a certain amount. A float-plane "flag" could be created specific for both ship and shore-recovery locations. (Float plane bases had special ramps to pull them up and launch them.)

By having a float-plane recovery flag (similar in concept to a flag that identifies a runway as being 4,000m long, but different ;) ), it would allow float-planes and ONLY float-planes to be recovered to that location.

Just a thought, since the game seems to differentiate between runway requirements for different classes of aircraft already.

Is this really that big of an issue right now? I would expect that a an aircraft won't land on any ship unless the player explicitly tells it to. Its not going to happen on its own.
