histgamer -> New Series Questions (AI and Art) (11/1/2020 8:48:09 PM)

I’m planning a series on this game as the Allies and have a few questions.

1. Is the AI able to competently run the Axis economy and AF/s so as to pose a semblance of a challenge to a new player well into 1944? I'm not an expert and I know human opponents are generally needed in big games like this, but I guess what I’m asking is, is the AI going to completely implode its economy and its war effort without the player’s impact? How well does the AI at least put up a show of force in the way the Axis historically did on the 1943 campaign?

2. Is there any way/mods or whatever to try to make the icons and planes not look so washed out? I’m guessing part of this is due to the fixed 1200x728 resolution or whatever it is but it would be nice if it was possible to make targets and icons “pop” a bit more.

The Axis AI handles production and raid interceptions pretty well from what I have observed. Others who are actively playing against it may have better info.

Regarding the graphics, there is not much that can be done without reprogramming the graphics engine and you would still have to develop new high-res graphics to go with it. You can check out the icons from the stock game in the "Artbackup" folder and old target mods in the mod forum threads which may be clearer to some.
