edward77 -> Lethal Carriers ? (11/23/2020 2:02:50 PM)

The mods for SC3 are absolutely brilliant. I am using Angus'Hybrid counters for WiE, SIPRES counters for WaW and the bleached map for both.
Currently I am playing the "Allies turn the tide" scenario,intermediate level, with the naval mod which is a great improvement and adds a new dimension to the war in the Pacific.
However I have a problem. According to the Naval rules carrier air attacks are quote "lethal to ships". Not in my game The overall impact of the carriers is very small compared to say the maritime bomber which IS lethal. For example a 6 strength US CV (2,4,3) with 8 aircraft attacks a 1 strength Raider(2,2). Projected outcome 3-0?. Presumably this mean a loss of 3 planes and 0 damage to the Raider. Spraying the mouse across the possible Japanese targets almost always shows a negative prediction. Have I missed something somewhere?

99.9% of the time when this issue has come up the player in question has failed to switch his carriers from "fighter" to "naval/tactical". Note if you do the ship(s) in question aren't available for interception duties on your opponent's turn.

We probably need a one-post sticky thread for this issue. [8D]

Ah right! Thank you very much Elessar 2 for putting me right. So with two carrier TFs one can put one on "naval/tactical" and the other on "fighter". Brilliant Thanks again

Or, for a lone carrier, where you fear interception, you can set it to Mix
