Rob322 -> Northern Fury #17 Poke In the Eye (11/27/2020 4:09:52 AM)

So I was playing this scenario today and noticed that no matter what approach I took as the NATO side, the moment the F-117's drop the GBU's, the sub dives, the bombs lose lock and don't strike it. I remember when this scenario came out a while ago this didn't happen so I fired up CMANO and loaded it and this time the sub stayed on the surface and got blown away. I looked at the doctrine settings for ASW-Dive When Threat Detected and both versions (CMANO and CMO) had the WP side set to Yes, on ESM detection and threat proximity. In CMANO the sub didn't dive and in CMO it dives as soon as it detects the incoming ordinance. I don't see any differences to the scenario from game to game but (and I'm not the best player for sure) it now seems impossible to hit the sub as it simply dives. Did something change in either the scenario or the game or is this working as planned? Is CMO different in the way it deals with reactions or the ability to detect bombs on radar? Or is it just meant to be more challenging? Just curious as to how this is meant to work? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I think it is a change in the game. I'll switch that setting to no.

The sub (scenario and story wise) is reloading its missiles after expending them outside NY harbor and should remain stationary.

Can you figure out who the SOF team is??

Well all three teams are labeled?

Ahh right!

Here is an updated version. I haven't tested it but hope it fixes the problem.

Cool, thanks!

Yeah... I noticed reaction times are generally quicker with the upgrade from C:MANO to C:MO. This especially hurt in Operation Lightning Strike when I found out that the rebels take 3 seconds from alert to launch in C:MO instead of the 15 seconds they need in C:MANO.
