Galaxy227 -> Replay feature in the AAR (12/2/2020 12:02:45 AM)

To start, replays in strategy games (and especially wargames) almost always significantly enhance the "satisfaction" of ending a game, and in Armored Brigade, I would argue this is true to a great extent. After days of contemplating whether or not I should purchase Armored Brigade, I finally gave in. I finished my first game only a half an hour ago or so. What an incredible experience that was! Even better, I was greeted with a "view replay" option in the AAR. Christmas came early this year! The replay was amusing to watch, I spent at least fifteen minutes replaying it. Analyzing my moves, role-playing about the various tactics implemented, firefights that took place, sacrifices made, etc. It was especially cool to see all of the units move about the map in unison, how they covered each other and used terrain (thanks to my tactical intelligence, not to brag...)! Unfortunately it left me wanting even more... as most indie games do. If there were the ability to view enemy units, my god that would be fantastic. Yep, that's the whole point of this thread lol. Of course I'm not entirely sure how feasible this is, or whether or not the developers would even necessarily want it implemented (perhaps to keep the inter-workings of the AI more discrete), however I still would argue that it would significantly improve the "view replay" experience & AAR, and consequently the satisfaction of completing a game—which is the purpose of playing in the first place. Alas, one can dream. I'd also like to add that this is an incredible game, and although there are a few hiccups and inconveniences, the scale and tactics in which Armored Brigade encapsulates is like no other game, and therefore is a new "high" that I'll constantly chase in wargames. You've scratched an itch I never knew I had! :) Stay safe.
