Just how tanks get side skirts could we get different things like wing shapes, stealth (first strike capable in a dogfight), countermeasures for air to sit missiles. And most importantly drone aircraft that doesn’t take pop.

Haha, we are kinda already overwhelmed with the amount of aircraft design options and aircraft technologies there are now, so I guess this is probably not a priority for now.
Stealth and missile countermeasures aren't bad ideas though.

This wouldn't be an issue if the unit design system were just a little better. On the contrary, unit design being overhauled is fairly high on the priority list in my mind, and additional features as described by OP would compliment such an overhaul well.
