When there are resource shortages (oil, power, etc.) I put some assets on a lower activity or even mothball them.
Then, when the situation gets better, I restore them to full functionality.
The management screen for assets gives the best overview for these actions, but the green %% bars that are visible in the bottom Assets panel of the Map mode don't work in the management screen, so I have to select them all to see which ones are at low production. If those green bars were enabled, it would be easier to manage the situation.
(minor detail: the light in the top right of the asset icon that indicates mothballing does work, but with my slight red/green colorblindness I have to really strain my eyes to see the difference between the green OK and the redbrown(?) mothball status. I normally don't have much reg/green problems, but here they seem to hit a weak spot in my eyesight)
