kicktothehead -> Workers are always short staffed (12/10/2020 9:48:05 PM)

As I mentioned previously I am on my 3rd game.
One thing I have noticed each run is I run out of workers constantly.
Right now - I am at 20% production due to worker shortages.
This is using all the strategems I get on worker happiness, worker hiring, etc.
Then after I bump it - it falls rapidly each time.

I am definitely missing something. What are some ideas to keep workers other than constantly using cards to pump them up, fall back, and try to pump them up again?

Do you have unrest in your cities? Fear or such? Keep your governor above 80 percent support and he will do a lot. also you can pay your workers more but that is a never ending cycle not good to get into.

I am running into the situation where most zones have cannibalized all their Freemen, so city growth has stopped, and the workforce becomes the bottleneck in my economy. I can still consolidate the workforce into less but higher level assets for a bit, but there seems to come a production limit. Is there some robot technology around the corner?

There is a robot tech it is for mines and another for Industry. Think there is another too. It cuts the work force by half as I recall but in the game I researched it in I don't recall seeing any benefits. But I wasn't short on population.

Technically, robotization doubles the base output of the relevant buildings instead of cutting the workers required by half. Thus, you would get the same output as before running at 50%, and twice as much as before running at 100%.

You need to show us your cities population and happiness scores. The report only shows us how deep your ship has sunk, not why it is sinking.

Thanks everyone.
So I managed to stay around until round 150 or so and another Major won.

After lots of reading I believe it kept occurring because my treasury ran low too many times and caused that messages to display in the reports (Cant recall it now - its an odd word used)

Yeah, the "You ran out of credits" warning is really bad. Borderline non-existent. Wich is why we would have needed to see the happiness and worker count figures from a city.
