I think this would be a great addition!
true multiplayer (ie a team on each side) is not part of the default design. But it can be done, just takes a fair bit of management and organisation. There are some good egs of how this works in the WiTE1 area and I'm sure the organisers would be happy to pass on their insights into how to manage this for WiTE2.
it seems to come down to having clear sub-roles, someone being prepared to run the game - who is moving at any one stage, who does the admin stuff and when the file is ready to pass over
